Saracens have announced that they have sold out Allianz Park for their Sunday afternoon clash with Wasps. Saracens captain Brad Baritt spoke of his teams excitement to be playing in front of a full house:
“One thing that we’re always excited about is playing in front of a sold-out Allianz Park, when this place is full the atmosphere really does inspire the players, so we’re very excited to be back at our home with the place packed to the rafters.”
The hosts who are unbeaten in their last 17 home league matches, welcome a struggling Wasps side that are aiming to avoid their fourth consecutive defeat. Wasps arrive in London off the back of defeats to Harlequins, Exeter and Bath. Last seasons table toppers have struggled so far this season with a mounting injury list hampering their attempts to emulate last seasons success.
One key loss for Wasps is Nathan Hughes who misses the match, having been sidelined by a dead leg. England Head Coach Eddie Jones will be following his recovery carefully given that both Billy Vunipola and Jack Clifford have been ruled out for the autumn internationals.
All eyes at Saracens will be on flyhalf Alex Lozowski, who starts ahead of the rested Owen Farrell. Lozowski has this week been linked with a move away from Saracens this summer as he seeks more first team opportunities.Lozowski, who won two England caps on the tour to Argentina, wants more first team rugby and sees his future lying elsewhere as Farrell is unquestionably Saracen’s first choice 10.
Given Wasps recent form anything less than a bonus point victory would be a disappointment for Saracens as they aim to catch Northampton and Newcastle at the top of the Aviva Premiership.
